MEMORIA PRODUKTION

MEMORIA PRODUKTION, founded by Per Zetterfalk, examines the field of tension between art, research and media.

Per Zetterfalk is a senior lecturer in TV production, film director and Ph.D in Artistic Formation.

His dissertation took place at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts in Stockholm in 2008. The thesis, “Inter esse. The Creative Subject, Norén and Reality”, is a new kind of research in-between art and science and the result also includes Per Zetterfalk’s documentary film on playwright Lars Norén’s artistic process, “Norén’s Drama”.

MEMORIA PRODUKTION, based in Sweden, collaborates with partners and employers such as the European League of Institutes of the Arts, Luleå University of Technology, the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, the Swedish Film Institute, the Swedish Institute, the Swedish Radio, the Swedish Television and the Swedish Research Council.

A keyword in this practice is “inter esse”, which means “in-between that which is”. It occurs across traditions as they stand today, and indirectly asks: What is a work of art? And what is a scientific result?

It is an international networking project, comprising 39 partners working together on enhancing the ‘3rd cycle’ of arts research and education, and creates a European-wide exchange framework for the widely different experiences, practices and ideas that make up the lively domain of artistic and cultural research.”
